Laleham Lea School Pupils Support Purley Food Hub
Led by their ‘Little Disciples’, pupils from Laleham Lea School in Purley have donated hundreds of food items to the Purley Food Hub to support local families that are struggling with the cost of living this autumn.
The ‘Little Disciples’ are elected students from each class who have been chosen by their peers to promote Gospel Values across the school as well as ensuring the whole school community are living out the Catholic Social Teaching Principals – including Preferential Option for the Poor and The Common Good.
Items including pasta, tinned vegetables, toothpaste and soup were dropped off at the Food Hub this week.
Maria Reece, Headteacher at Laleham Lea said: “There is always a big focus on charitable giving at Laleham Lea as we strive to live out our Catholic Social Teaching principals. Our Little Disciples are very enthusiastic and were very keen to support the vital work of the Food Hub in the local community this year. We hope that our harvest donations help to make a difference.”
