Collaborative RE Development Day Woldingham School 3 June 2026
Dear CISC Heads of RE and RE Department Colleagues,
We are delighted to invite you and your teaching staff to a FREE face to face key professional development and networking event focused entirely on strengthening RE practice in KS3, KS4 and Sixth Form RE across CISC schools.
This practical and collaborative day will be run jointly by Mo Glackin, National RE Adviser for the CES, and Sarah Barreto, General Secretary for CISC, Thomas Gillingham
KS4 RE Directory Project Analyst and Dave Legrand Secondary RE Adviser for A and B Diocese.
Day Overview & Agenda
The event is provisionally scheduled for the 3rd June at Woldingham School, running from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm.
The day is structured to ensure maximum practical takeaway:
- 10:00 am – 10:30 am: Arrival, Coffee, and Registration.
- 10:30 am – 11:30 pm: Bring and Brag: What Works Well
- We invite you to share concrete examples of good moderation, strong assessment practices, and successful approaches to planning branches and sequences of lessons, especially those fostering dialogue and encounter.
- 11.30 am -12.30pm  Dedicated discussion on effective strategies and upcoming structure for KS4 RE and Sixth Form Core RE with guest speakers Thomas Gillingham and tbc.
- 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Lunch Break (Opportunity for informal networking).
- 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm: Collaborative Problem-Solving
- Delegates will break into age-phase groups to openly discuss current problems and challenges facing your departments. This is a crucial opportunity to find solutions together through shared expertise and resources.
- Assessment Toolkit Overview: The day will also include an essential overview of the upcoming assessment toolkit and how it may support your departmental planning.
- 3pm- Plenary and closing prayerÂ
