Henry Warner appointed as next Head of St George’s College Weybridge
St George’s Weybridge is pleased to announce that Mr Henry Warner has been appointed as the
next Head of St George’s College, succeeding Mrs Rachel Owens in September 2026.
The appointment follows a rigorous and highly competitive national and international recruitment
process, which attracted a strong field of candidates, including a number of serving Heads from
leading independent schools.
Currently serving as Deputy Head Academic, Henry has been a driving force behind a period of
significant academic and strategic progress at the College, overseeing record GCSE results and
innovative developments in teaching, learning, and digital strategy.
Denis Nowlan, Chair of Governors, said:
“The Governors were deeply impressed by the calibre of applicants and were unanimous in their
decision. Henry combines intellectual rigour with a genuine commitment to the Josephite ethos and
to nurturing each student’s individual potential. His leadership will ensure that St George’s continues
to flourish in the years ahead.”
Henry Warner said:
“It is an immense privilege to be appointed as the next Head of St George’s College. Having worked
within this inspiring community for several years, I have seen first-hand the strength of our values,
the dedication of our staff, and the remarkable talents of our students.
I look forward to building on the College’s outstanding reputation and continuing to foster a culture
where every young person can flourish – academically, spiritually, and personally – within the
Josephite ethos that makes St George’s so special.”
Henry brings extensive experience across a range of educational settings, including previous
leadership roles at St Catherine’s School, Twickenham and Wetherby Senior School. A First Class
History graduate of Durham University, he is passionate about holistic education and the
development of character alongside academic excellence.
