Prior Park Prep School’s Celebration of Holi Reported in India and the USA
As the Lent term drew to a close at Prior Park Prep School, the focus was on the importance of Holy Week in Catholic/Christian lives with children learning about Palm Sunday, Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday in the run up to Easter.
This year, however, the last day of term also coincided with the Hindu Holi Celebration on Wednesday 23 March. Therefore, to add a bit of ‘colour and fun’ to the last hour of the day, pupils in Years 3 – 8 learnt about this spiritual Festival and joined in the Holi celebrations by throwing coloured powder paints at each other… and staff!
