Study Days in 2017

CISC Author Events, News, Study Days

Please bring the following study days to the attention of your colleagues:

Weds 15 March – Heads of RS at our Lady’s Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The day will include a stimulating presentation on British values though the lens of Catholic Social Teaching, an imaginative input on teaching RE to classes where most pupils are not Catholic and an update from the CES on RE teaching in our schools and the new GCSE RE.

Thu 29 March – Librarians and Senior Academic Staff at our Lady’s Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The day is being led by Nicola Morgan, award-winning author of The Teenage Guide to Stress. The morning session will focus on how stress affects performance, with practical tips on how to help teenagers manage their stress. The afternoon session will focus on ‘readaxation’ and how reading can improve well-being for teenagers. This study day will be of equal interest to pastoral, and academic staff, as well as librarians.

Thu 4 May – Study Day for School Chaplains at Farnborough Hill School, Hampshire. The programme includes the presentation of a framework for evaluating and understanding chaplaincy in our schools, a presentation of the remarkable impact of Godly Play across the full age range, and the compelling story of the Manquehue community from Chile and their work on Lectio Divina in our Benedictine schools. There will also be an opportunity for candid discussion about the challenges facing chaplains in our schools and how we can create an effective and supportive network.

More events can be found on the Events Calendar.
