If you go down to the woods today. . .
Nower Wood, run by Surrey Wildlife Trust, is approximately 80 acres of ancient woodland sitting on a clay cap at the head of a dry valley. The wood is mentioned in the Doomsday Survey.
Cranmore School Lower Preps enjoyed a wonderful trip to Nower Wood, run by Surrey Wildlife Trust, on a ‘Badger’s Day Out’. With many activities including a blindfold trail to imagine being a nocturnal animal, a mini-beast hunt, pond dipping and looking at all the pond life in fantastic detail under the video microscope, the trip was voted a great success.
