Prior Park College hosts Laudato Si event

Paula Hawkins News

Prior Park College, Bath invited 140 children from seven schools within the Diocese to their Laudato Si event earlier this month. Aided by students and staff from the College, the children were split into groups and spent the morning walking in the Prior Park valley. At various locations along their route were ‘information stations’ manned by some of the College’s teachers. Each station informed the children about a subject: water, fire, weather, sun, the night sky, our neighbours, brother and sisters throughout the world and the Earth.

After lunch, each team was given one of the subjects and asked to make a poster on this theme. They needed to include a prayer and ideas (both positive and negative) about the theme. The results were fantastic! The children took their finished posters to the Chapel where they are now proudly displayed. The event came to a close with College Chaplain, Fr Chris, conducting a short service to celebrate the Feast of St Francis of Assisi.

Our thanks to all the schools that took part, six primary and one secondary; St John’s, St Mary’s, St Patrick’s, St Benedict’s, St Joseph and St Teresa, St Augustine’s and St Gregory’s.
