Afternoon Tea with Grandparents at Oakwood School

Oakwood School in Purley held a Grandparents’ Tea on Thursday 23 November 2017. The event started with children and their grandparents listening to a musical performance by the Reception children. This was followed by a Year 6 presentation on inspirational people and then children and their families enjoyed an afternoon tea together.

The school recognises the importance of the family as an essential part of its ethos and this results in a strong partnership between the families and the school. Parents and family are closely involved with the progress of their child’s character development as well as academic development at Oakwood.

The school has just been ranked as one of The Sunday Times Top 100 Prep Schools, for a fifth year running which shows that character based education, and education in the virtues enables children to flourish in all areas of their lives including their academic achievement.
