Laleham Lea School Pupils Support Purley Food Hub
Pupils from Laleham Lea School in Purley dropped off their Harvest Festival collection at Purley Food Hub this week to help support local families in crisis.
Items including pasta, tinned vegetables, custard and washing pods were donated by Laleham Lea families to the charity who are urgently requesting donations during these challenging times for families.
Maria Reece, Acting Head Teacher at Laleham Lea said: “We have a big focus on charitable giving at Laleham Lea and our students are always keen to help others. The Purley Food Hub plays a vital role in supporting the local community and we are happy to be able to help support their much-needed work.”
Louise Willmer, the Food Hub’s Stock Controller, said: “We are delighted once more to receive a huge Harvest food donation from Laleham Lea School and are very grateful to the pupils, their families and the staff for their continued support.”
“Already this year we have delivered food for nearly 35,000 meals to local families facing hardship – that’s well over 5,000 meals more than at the same time in 2022. And it is thanks to the fantastic support we receive from schools like Laleham Lea as well as churches, businesses, community organisations and many families and individuals that, together, we can make a real difference for local children and adults going through tough times.”
