St George’s Junior School to welcome Dan Jameson as new Headmaster in 2025
St George’s Junior School is proud to announce the appointment of Dan Jameson as its new Headmaster from the beginning of the Summer Term 2025. Dan brings with him a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives from his four years as Head of Garden House Boys’ School in Chelsea, one of London’s leading Prep schools.
During his time at Garden House, Dan has spearheaded strategic, whole-school improvements, including the introduction of specialised teaching in core subjects and an integrated approach to fostering critical thinking and excellence across the curriculum. His leadership has also seen the successful expansion of the Upper School, ensuring enhanced opportunities for students.
Prior to his role at Garden House, Dan was Assistant Head at Kensington Prep School, where he was chiefly responsible for developing an innovative and distinct style of teaching and learning. In addition to these roles, he has taught extensively in both state and independent schools, and across single sex and co-educational settings.
Dan’s passion for primary education stems from his belief that “the years children spend in primary school are the most important years of all”, and his own fond memories of childhood and school life inspired him to become an educator. He aims to cultivate curious, empathetic thinkers who are eager to explore the world around them and seize the abundant opportunities offered by exceptional schools like St George’s.
“Dan’s commitment to fostering a supportive, holistic educational environment perfectly aligns with the ethos of St George’s. The Governors were impressed by his intellect, energy, and unwavering dedication to continuous improvement,” shared St George’s Chair of Governors, Denis Nowlan. “His vision of education, centred on enabling happy children to become curious, independent, and empathetic learners and thinkers, resonated deeply with the school’s values.”
“We are profoundly grateful to Antony Hudson, St George’s Junior School’s retiring Headmaster, for his exceptional leadership and service over the past two decades,” Denis further commented.
“Antony’s dedication has played a pivotal role in shaping St George’s Junior School into the vibrant, compassionate, and excellent institution it is today. The school eagerly anticipates formally honouring Antony’s contributions upon his retirement.”
With Dan Jameson at the helm, St George’s Junior School looks forward to a future of continued academic, spiritual, and social growth, ensuring the flourishing of its students for years to come.
