Exciting resources for schools
On our recent RE Development Day at Woldingham School, we heard all about a wonderful resource written by Lizzy Peck, one of our wonderful Heads of RE called You Can Tell Me Anything.
For finding info about both books with CISC schools, here are the relevant webpages:
Here is the webpage for Lindsay Gibson’s new book, in which You Can Tell Me Anything is recommended:
St Mary’s, Cambridge is in the process of creating a KS3 scheme of work that uses God Is Not A Man In The Sky as the backbone for Y7 in particular, and then builds on ideas from there in Y8 and Y9.
Lizzy has made author visits to numerous primary schools with You Can Tell Me Anything, and has run workshops with them to help pupils write their own poems to take home, which parallel the book and help the child share their feelings with their parents/guardians so for any school who is interested in using the book themselves and sharing it with parents, Lizzy would share the poetry-writing resource with them.
Although both books are available on Amazon and Waterstones etc, it would be ideal if people were happy to purchase from the publisher directly, as that way both they as an independent, Catholic publisher, and the charity (in the case of YCTMA) make more money.
Finally, Lizzy also has a third book, the profits from which also go to charity but that is much less RE-relevant.
