Prior Park Prep to Cease Boarding
Prior Park Prep School Announces Fee Reduction and Boarding Relocation. In a response to nationally rising school fees, Prior Park Prep School in Cricklade has taken the bold decision to reduce its fees. From September 2017 these will be reduced by as much as 15% compared to existing fees. To reinforce its strong educational focus, an additional £500,000 will also be invested at the school.
Headmaster Mark Pearce said, ‘As a School with a Catholic Christian ethos, we are committed to offering a Prior Park Prep education to as many families as possible and we recognise and understand the sacrifices that parents and grandparents are having to make in order to allow their children to benefit from a Prior education’.
From September 2017 boarding will also no longer be part of the Prior Park Prep educational offering and will be relocated to Prior Park College in Bath where demand is high and over one third of the pupils are boarders.First class teaching combined with small class sizes and the breadth of opportunity on offer has helped to ensure that children from Prior Park Prep have achieved scholarships to many independent schools and also 11+ success at various grammar schools.
Taking children from rising three, children at Prior Park Prep benefit from some of the best sports facilities on offer locally including a large multi-functional sports hall which includes four badminton courts, a tennis court, four cricket nets, a netball court as well as a viewing gallery. The school also has two further netball courts, seven rugby pitches, eight football pitches, two cricket squares, athletics facilities, a 25m swimming pool and a full sized all-weather astro with two seven a side hockey pitches and three tennis courts.
Other co-curricular options include three choirs, two orchestras (last term saw the introduction at the School of the new PBuzz), speech and drama, photography, fencing, golf, archery, chess, model making, art and judo to name a few. In Easter this year, students will be taking part in a cultural tour of New York. By reducing the fees, Prior Park Prep aims to make its educational offering open to as many families as possible.
Prior Park Prep’s next Open Mornings are on 4.3.17 and 21.4.17
